June always flies by; I honestly don’t know what happened.
- Pizza from Donato’s in Indy
- Pizza from Old Chicago
- Shrimp and Grits from Green Hills Grill on Fathers’ Day
- Chicken Chimichanga from Los Arcos for my sister’s birthday
I feel like I’m missing something but it was a tasty month.
We went to Meijer while in Indianapolis. There isn’t one in Tennessee or anywhere in the south that we go on the regular, but I loved it. It’s sort of a mix between Target and Kohl’s with groceries and stuff. I got a white lace tunic (This is my third white lace tunic and I think I’m obsessed) and a burgundy and gray cold shoulder Raglan which is the most comfy things ever.
I also did a thrift haul and lookbook with some pretty fly outfits.
June was awful for reading. I read only four books, an all time low. And one of them was a Dr. Seuss audiobook so, yeah.
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
X: A Novel by Ilyasah Shabazz and Kekla Magoon
What Pet Should I Get? & One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss
Return to Sender by Julia Alvarez
Best Book: X it was absolutely fabulous and I can’t get over the cover, I mean look at this:
Worst Book: What Pet Should I Get? Just ugh! Not the best Dr. Seuss, plus it holds no memories for me.
I’ll be posting a book review on X and Return to Sender soon.
Basically nothing happened, I think I worked on 12 Days to Die exactly once in 30 days.
I’ve had Coldplay’s A Head Full of Dreams playing a lot this month. I can’t get enough of Fun. The keys, guitar, poetic lyrics and seamless duet between Chris Martin and Tove Lo are epic.
This month we went up to Indiana with some friends and on the way up we listened to Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson with lots of dance parties in the car. We also played Vanessa Williams version of Work to Do way too much.
In my piano lessons, we learned the C Major Arpeggio and the I IV V Progression, good stuff.
I watched Star Wars A New Hope this month for the first time… I don’t get the hype.
I also watched Spiderman (the old one with Tobey Maguire) and I think it needs more hype. That movie might be my favorite Marvel movie.
And I saw Zootopia in the theatre pretty funny but also animated propaganda. All those sort of subversive but basically overt messages on tolerance and inclusion and being anything you want. Quite amusing, but I did enjoy it.
We went to Indianapolis for a Media Camp with my mom, sister, best friends and their families. We rented a house together and stayed for a week. It was an extremely fun time.
Fathers’ Day happened (You rock Dad!)
I volunteered at a homeschool practicum in the Geo Draw Camp. I helped teach the 6-8 year olds geography.
I also volunteered at my church’s VBS with the 6-8 year olds.
Our church had our annual Youth Day, and I was the MC. I also helped serve the food. (I am a really helpful person apparently.)
My sister turned 10 years old
I got my hair cut (I will post a picture of myself sometime soon hopefully.)
Stay fly friends
How was your June?
Were you more successful in reading than I was?
