I’m sorry that I’ve been gone for a while. I have a few dope posts in the works so stay tuned for those. In the meantime…here’s what I’m currently doing:
Watching: The K-drama Miss Hammurabi. It’s probably my favorite drama so far (I don’t know though Andante and Hwarang were great too…) But anyway, we’re on episode 13 of 16 and it’s the perfect mix of emotion, humor, and politics. I’m super fascinated by the look at Korean society and their justice system.
Listening: To Mahalia’s I Wish I Missed My Ex and Years & Years’ Don’t Panic. They’re amazing songs you should listen too!
Reading: The Autobiography of Malcolm X, which they think I’ve stolen from the library because I’ve had it for so long…
Wearing: My new rose gold Converse
Looking Forward: To my new phone coming tomorrow!
Excited: For BTS’ Love Yourself: Answer (yep, I pre-ordered it!) Let me know in the comments what songs you predict will be on the album.
I’ve tried to publish this post twice already but due to technical difficulties it wouldn’t post properly. Anyway, there are a couple of things I’m excited about for September that I wanted to share.
BTS is one of my favorite kpop groups so I’m stoked that they’re new album “Her” releases on September 18th. I probably won’t buy the album but I’ll definitely stream the videos.
Another one of my fave kpop groups: EXO will release their repackaged album in September. I’m hoping that this will clear up some of the theories surrounding the EXOclipse concept.
I’ve been a Lecrae fan for a long time and I’ve been waiting for this album since Church Clothes 3. “All Things Together”, which comes out on September 22nd, also features Kierra Sheard, Tori Kelly, and others which intrigues me.
Lego Ninjago Movie
Moving on from music, the Lego Ninjago Movie comes out this month. I enjoyed the other lego movies and used to watch the Lego Ninjago series on Cartoon Network when I was younger, so I expect this movie to be hilarious and a bit nostalgic
Manolo: The Boy Who Made Shoes for Lizards
This fashion documentary about Manolo Blahnik features Anna Wintour and Andre Leon Talley whom I love and I don’t know much about the Manolo Blahnik story yet so this documentary should be perfect.
Karl Lagerfield X Vans
When I first saw an article about Karl Lagerfield for Vans I did a double take. I don’t really like Vans but I often like Karl Lagerfield’s aesthetic. So while I won’t be buying anything you’ll definitely be seeing some items on my Pinterest.
Balmain X L’Oreal
A designer collab that I will be buying from is Balmain for L’Oreal which I’ve been waiting for since May. Balmain is my fave RTW brand and I can’t wait to cop one of these pretty lipstick shades, especially since I was broke for Balmain X H&M lol.
What are you looking forward to?
I had no clue what to blog about today so it’s time for a currently. Currently I’m…
Watching: I haven’t been watching much TV but I watched a Youtube series called Life with Logans, it’s so funny.
Listening: To French artist Stromae, his music is electronic/techo sung in French. Also The Lion King Broadway soundtrack, ’cause Lion King is Life.
Eating: Sweet Potato chips with roasted red pepper hummus.
Making: Scones! I made blueberry lemon scones yesterday and they were delicious.
Reading: Full Cicada Moon by Marilyn Hilton it’s a novel written in verse and it’s beautiful so far.
Missing: My friends, I haven’t seen them in a couple of weeks and I miss them.
Praying: For the victims of police brutality, the police victims from Dallas, the Orlando victims, and our nation.
What have you been doing currently?
I thought it would be fun to do a random “currently” post. I’m currently…
Eating: Taco salad from Qdoba grill, Martin’s Barbecue, and 312 deep dish pizza. (Over a few days, I’m not an animal…)
Watching: The documentary Ressurrecting Richard III. It’s about discovering whether King Richard III could have fought in battle with scoliocis, quite interesting. Also Deadliest Catch which is a TV series about crab fishing. (It’s cooler than you think)
Listening to: The Heart Speaks in Whispers Corinne Bailey Rae’s new album, I love it. And Brooklyn Sessions IV by Brooklyn Duo.
Reading: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, Night Divided by Jennifer Nielsen. Plus I just finished Bad Boy by Walter Dean Myers. Bad Boy was the bomb.
Writing: 12 Days to Die; a story about a broken assassin who must murder the President to stay alive. See about my main character here.
Wanting: These super cute headwraps from The Wrap Life *looks for family reading* *hint, hint*
Loving: Tea. It got me through a choir workshop full of high soprano parts while getting over a sinus infection.
Laughing at: Old Blimey Cow videos
Looking Forward to: A normal week now that I’m over a sinus infection. And a possible new hairstyle soon?
